Malika Ayane (Milan, January 31, 1984) is an Italian singer-songwriter. After gaining experience as a singer at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and collaborating on several advertising campaigns, she signed a record deal with Sugar Music in 2007. Her debut album was released in 2008, featuring the single "Feeling Better". Ayane has participated four times in the Sanremo Music Festival: in 2009 in the Giovani section, finishing second with "Come foglie"; in 2010, winning the Mia Martini Critics' Award and the Radio and TV Press Room Award with "Ricomincio da qui", sparking an unexpected reaction from the orchestra that publicly tore up the scores in protest against the televote that excluded Ayane from the final; in 2013 with the single "E se poi" and finally in 2015, finishing third with "Adesso e qui (nostalgico presente)", winning the Critics' Award for the second time. Among her most representative songs are also "Come foglie", "Ricomincio da qui", "E se poi" and "Adesso e qui (nostalgico presente)".
