Owl City is an American indie/synth-pop musical project created by Adam Young in 2007. Initially active as an independent artist, he released two albums before signing with Republic Records. The breakthrough came in 2009 with the debut studio album *Ocean Eyes*, which achieved international success thanks to the single *Fireflies*.
