High enough

We were on the road
Our blood was getting cold
Searching for the summer
Trying to lose control
Freedom was the goal
We refused to be a number

We could see the city lights
Shining like silver rivers
And we will dream those city lights forever

But did we reach high enough?
Or was the bar too high?
Every time we tried
Did we reach high enough?
Thought we were aiming high
Only limit was the sky

We were on a beach
You were out of reach
Worshipping the sunset
We were on a beach
I was on my knees
Hail to the sunset

We could see the city lights
Promising a dream of heaven
And we will see those pretty lights forever
And ever, ever and ever

Did we reach high enough?
Or was the bar too high?
Every time we tried
Did we reach high enough?
Thought we were aiming high
Only limit was the sky
Did we reach high enough?
We could reach forever
And somehow we would never
Did we reach high enough?
At the end of the day
Who can really say?

Did you feel relief?
Did we ever find what we were searching for?
Did you feel sweet release?
Did we ever have a chance
Under such a circumstance, yeah?

Did we want it, did we crave it?
Did we need it bad enough?
Did we want it, did we crave it?
Did we need it bad enough?

Did we reach high enough?
Or was the bar too high?
Every time we tried
Did we reach high enough?
Thought we were aiming high
Only limit was the sky
Did we reach high enough?
We could reach forever
And somehow we would never
Did we reach high enough?
At the end of the day
Who can really say?

Did we want it, did we crave it?
We could reach for heaven
Did we need it bad enough?
Did we want it, did we crave it?
We could reach forever
Did we need it bad enough?
