Ritchie Blackmore (nato Richard Hugh Blackmore il 14 aprile 1945) è un chitarrista britannico di fama mondiale, considerato uno dei più influenti del rock progressivo e hard rock. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60 con i The Outlaws e successivamente con i Deep Purple, band con cui raggiunse l'apice della popolarità negli anni '70 grazie a successi come "Smoke on the Water" e "Highway Star". Dopo un periodo di pausa, Blackmore ha fondato Rainbow, gruppo che ha esplorato sonorità più hard rock e heavy metal. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Rainbow figurano "Stargazer", "Man on the Silver Mountain" e "Since You Been Gone". Nel 1984 ha formato il gruppo Blackmore's Night, con cui si è dedicato a un genere musicale folk-rock medievale.
