Holding the embers

Everyday is a new day, try to believe it
Wish it could take my breath away
Every moment repeating, I'm missing the meaning
Hope I have what I need to change

I bend just to break, I rise just to fall
I see everything, I see nothing at all
I give then I take, I run then I crawl
I'm searching for something and nothing at all

I feel like I'm trying to surrender, holding the embers
'Cause every time that I remember
I'm chasing forever
They start to burn away

Everyday is a new day, I try to believe it
Wish it could take my breath away
Every moment repeating, I'm missing the meaning
Hope I have what I need to change

I bend just to break, I rise just to fall
I see everything, I see nothing at all
I give then I take, I run then I crawl
For nothing at all

I feel like I'm trying to surrender, holding the embers
'Cause every time that I remember
I'm chasing forever
They start to burn away
They start to burn away

But I've gotta try to let this go
The past, the pain, the shame I know
No looking back, no losing hope
I'll bury my fear at the end of the road
Dig!
I'll bury my fear at the end of the road

Everyday is a new day, I try to believe
Hope I have what I need to change

I feel like I'm trying to surrender, holding the embers
'Cause every time that I remember
I'm chasing forever
They start to burn away

I feel like I'm trying, trying
They start to burn away
I feel like I'm trying, trying
I'll bury my fear at the end of the road

Biografia

We Came As Romans is an American metalcore band formed in 2005 in Ohio. The original lineup consisted of Dave Stephens, Kyle Pavone, Joshua Moore, Lou Cotton and Blake Bargar. Their music blends aggressive metalcore sounds with melodic elements and introspective lyrics that explore themes of loss, pain, and hope. Among their most notable albums are "To Plant A Seed" (2009), "Understanding What We've Grown To Be" (2011) and "Tracing Back Roots" (2014). In 2018 Pavone tragically passed away, leaving an irreplaceable void in the band. Representative tracks include "The World I Used To Know", "Hope" and "Carry On", showcasing their evolving sound and ability to tackle complex themes with sensitivity and power.
