With your smile you bent light
Built a wall you hid behind
Branches woven to cover the other side
The silence was deceiving
It was the eye of the storm
Rolling thunder ripped your heart out
The lighting struck in another form
It kept striking
Until you fell down the gorge
You kept falling as the bolt dug deeper into your sores
Days turned to nights turned to years
From the echoes there is no escape
Isolation with no end
It was you but you altered shape
Now you have taken your place
You are one of the eternals
You left us with a smile
When you rolled out in the night
Now you have taken your place
You are one of the eternals
You left us with a smile
When you rolled out in the night
Staring into the dark
In the dark it all amplifies
One star shines brighter
It will never die
Cult of Luna is a Swedish sludge/post-metal band from UmeƄ. Formed in 1998 from the remnants of the Umea hardcore punk band Eclipse, they gradually gained critical acclaim and underground popularity with early releases *Cult of Luna* (2001) and *The Beyond* (2003). However, it was the 2004 album *Salvation* that can be considered their breakthrough. By cutting down on the somewhat esoteric use of aggression so indicative of doom metal, it appealed to a new group of fans. Its calmer sound has earned them favorable reviews in the mainstream music press, a reputation built upon for the release of *Somewhere Along the Highway* in 2006, another largely well-received album. Representative tracks include *The Silent Man*, *Blood Eagle*, and *Deathwish*.
