Anthony Dominick Benedetto, known worldwide as Tony Bennett (New York City, August 3, 1926 – New York City, July 21, 2023), was an American singer of international renown. Considered one of the greatest American crooners of all time, alongside Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Perry Como, he dominated the music scene for over seven decades. Bennett began his career in the 1940s, singing jazz in New York City clubs. His distinctive vocal style, rich with emotion and impeccable technique, made him a public idol. Throughout his long career, Bennett has sold over 50 million records worldwide, winning numerous awards, including 18 Grammy Awards. Among his most famous songs are "I Left My Heart in San Francisco", "The Way You Look Tonight", and "Because of You".
