Sananda Maitreya, born Terence Trent Howard, is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in 1962. Known to the general public as Terence Trent D'Arby, he rose to fame in the 1980s with his musical style that blends soul, funk, jazz, and rock.
