All alone in bridge of silence
I suppose you shouldn't stay,
all alone in dream's asylum
Don't you know we've come a long way...
I suppose we were
Somewhere in the sun
We walked in coloured fields
In places on the run.
What a dream I had
Dressed in coloured shawls
Though the night was so warm
And a nightingale
Sat on a castle wall
While the river ran on
Calling- hearing you call
The river ran on
Running-
The river ran on.
It felt as if we were
In places yet unknown
We walked through the bazars
In places on the runWhat a dream I had
Walking by the wall
Oh the raiment and all
The stars that flickered by
Soon to be replaced
If I asked them they'd fall
Calling- hearing you call
The river ran on
Running -
The river ran on.
What a dream I had
Dressed in coloured shawls
Though the night was so warm,
And in the darkness I
Tried to take your hand
But it was nothing at all.
Nothing at all
The river ran on
Nothing at all.
The river ran on.
The Dream Academy was a British musical group formed in London in 1983 and disbanded in 1991. The group, composed of Nick Chappel (vocals), Gilbert Gabriel (keyboards) and Andy Gangadeen (drums), achieved international success with the single "Life in a Northern Town", released in 1985. The song, a nostalgic anthem to life in Northern England, became a classic of the era and helped define the synth-pop aesthetic of the 1980s. The Dream Academy released two studio albums: "The Dream Academy" (1985) and "Blindfold" (1987). Both albums achieved moderate commercial success, but failed to reach the heights of their first single. After the release of "Blindfold", the group disbanded. Although they had a relatively short career, The Dream Academy left an indelible mark on the history of 1980s pop music.

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
