Daemonarch was a side project band constituted by 4 of the 5 then-members of the Portuguese Gothic metal band Moonspell. The only album released, *Hermeticum*, was born from a compilation of poetry written by Fernando Ribeiro between the ages of 14 and 16. The album presents a darker and more experimental sound compared to Moonspell's, with progressive and ambient influences. The band had a short life, disbanding after the release of the album in 2003. Fernando Ribeiro has since continued to collaborate with other artists such as poet José Luís Peixoto.
