I Qntal sono un gruppo tedesco di electro-medieval rock formatosi nel 1991 da Michael Popp ed Ernst Horn. In seguito alla formazione del gruppo, si unì la cantante Syrah. Le origini dei Qntal, i cui membri principali sono ora Michael Popp e Syrah, risalgono al precedente gruppo degli Estampie, che eseguiva musica dello stesso genere ma con uno stile differente. Ernst Horn ha lasciato il gruppo nel 1999 per concentrarsi sull'altro complesso di cui faceva parte, i Deine Lakaien, e nel 2001 ha fondato gli Helium Vola. Fil si è unito ai Qntal in seguito all'uscita di Horn. Il sound dei Qntal fonde elementi medievali con sonorità elettroniche, creando un'atmosfera suggestiva e avvolgente. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo ricordiamo "The Last Unicorn", "A Thousand Years" e "In The Shadow of the Moon".
