It's not safe

All you want to do is something good
So get ready to be ridiculed and misunderstood
cause dont you know that youre a fucking freak in this world
In which everybodys willing to choose swine over pearls

And maybe everything is all for nothing
Still youd better keep it to yourself
cause God knows its not safe with anybody else

You can take your own advice and try again
But a thousand compromises dont add up to a win
And theyd be happy if youd only cover your tracks
But the trail of crumbs youve left wont help you find your way back

So maybe everything is all for nothing
Still youd better keep it to yourself
cause God knows its not safe with anybody else
God knows its not safe with anybody else

You can play along, but youll just end up wrong somehow, wont you

-guitar solo-

But youre the idiot who keeps believing in luck
And you just cant get it through your head that no one else gives a fuck

So maybe everything is all for nothing
Still youd better keep it to yourself
cause God knows its not safe with anybody else
God knows its not safe with anybody else

-guitar solo-

God knows its not safe with anybody else
Its not safe with anybody else
God knows its not safe with anybody else

-52 secs of silence-

(play that guitar
But youre the idiot who keeps believing in luck
The speaker is out of the picture
Im talking to the microphone
The microphone thinks that Im talking
But Im not talking at all
Im singing to you)

Thank you because you correct this lyrics

Biografia

Aimee Mann is an American singer-songwriter known for her indie pop style characterized by introspective lyrics and enveloping melodies. She began her career in the 1980s as the lead vocalist of the band 'Til Tuesday, achieving moderate success with singles like "Voices Carry". After the band's disbandment, Mann embarked on a successful solo career, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as "Bachelor No. 2" (1993) and "Magnolia" (1999), the latter being the soundtrack to Paul Thomas Anderson's film of the same name. In 2003, Mann founded her own record label, SuperEgo Records, to have greater control over her music. Her subsequent albums, such as "The Forgotten Arm" (2005) and "@#% and *!" (2017), have solidified her status as a successful independent artist. Some of Aimee Mann's most representative songs include "Save Me", "Wise Up", and "Deathly".
