Born in Toulouse, France, Nougaro began his career as a jazz musician in the 1950s, collaborating with international artists such as Miles Davis and Chet Baker. Throughout the 1960s, he established himself as a songwriter, composing poetic lyrics and original melodies that captivated the French audience.
