Amy Elizabeth Ray (born April 12, 1964) is an American singer-songwriter known for being a member of the acclaimed contemporary folk duo Indigo Girls. Born in Georgia, Ray began writing songs at the age of ten. In 1985, she joined Emily Saliers to form Indigo Girls, with whom she has released over ten successful albums.
