Helmet is an alternative metal band from New York, formed in 1989. Founded by vocalist/guitarist Page Hamilton, the band has had numerous lineup changes, with Hamilton being the only constant member. Their sound, characterized by heavy riffs, complex structures and introspective lyrics, has influenced several bands of the alternative metal and post-hardcore genres.
