Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California. The group, consisting of M. Shadows (vocals), Synyster Gates (guitar), Zacky Vengeance (rhythm guitar) and Johnny Christ (bass), achieved immense popularity in the 2000s thanks to their aggressive yet melodic sound, influenced by thrash metal, classic heavy metal and punk rock.
