Midnight Oil is an Australian rock band from Sydney, active from 1972 to 2007. The original lineup included Rob Hirst (drums), Andrew James (bass) and Jim Moginie (keyboards/guitar). The band's name changed from Farm to Midnight Oil in 1973 with the addition of Peter Garrett (vocals) and Martin Rotsey (guitar).
