Walking out of England thinking you were king taking on this world
On that bus that goes through Mexico a killer love finds a sweet Mexican girl
But down in Mississippi we rushed into the room
Down in Dixie you were crying for dope
Down in Alabama they like home cooked fare yeah
So we're gonna strap you to the fryin' chair yeah
But I don't know what love is
Is there something else giving me the chills?
But if my hands are the color of blood
Then, I can tell ya
Sure I can tell ya
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
Do you wanna hear all the sirens of the city drown the arguing?
We're on Riker's Island on a population board
They don't care about your fame
But I don't know what love is
Is there something else giving me the chills?
But if my hands are the color of blood
Then, I can tell ya
Sure I can tell ya
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
On the rio grande they'll tie you to a tree
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
And you can't call the lawyers
'cause the whorehouse is asleep
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
You people will get weak
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
They'll throw you in a cell where you can barely breathe
But I don't know what love is
Is there something else giving me the chills?
But if my hands are the color of blood
Then, I can tell ya
Sure I can tell ya
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
Love kills
Joe Strummer, born John Graham Mellor (1952-2002), was a British singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor, and radio host. Known for being the frontman of The Clash, one of the most influential punk bands in music history. Born in Ankara, Turkey, to English parents, Strummer spent his childhood between London and continental Europe. Influenced by American rock 'n' roll and British folk music, he began playing guitar at the age of 15. In 1976, he founded The Clash with Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, and Topper Headon. The band quickly became a symbol of the punk movement, blending punk energy, reggae, ska, and rockabilly into a unique and revolutionary sound. Their albums, such as *London Calling* (1979) and *Sandinista!* (1980), are considered milestones in punk music and have influenced generations of musicians. After The Clash disbanded in 1986, Strummer continued to pursue a successful musical career as a solo artist, collaborating with artists like Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash. He died suddenly in 2002 at the age of 50. Among Joe Strummer's most representative songs are: *London Calling*, *Should I Stay or Should I Go*, *Rock the Casbah*.

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
Sweden and the United States are two countries far from each other, thousands of kilometers separate them, the language, culinary and sporting traditions, I don't feel so categorical about the landscapes, not knowing all of America there may be states that have the same reliefs of the country of northern Europe, but on one thing I am sure
