Nanci Caroline Griffith (1953-2021) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, considered one of the most influential figures in American folk music of the 1980s and 1990s. Born in Texas, Griffith began her musical career in the 1970s playing in Austin clubs. Her style, characterized by poetic lyrics and evocative melodies, blended elements of folk, country, and blues, influencing generations of singer-songwriters.
