Madcon is a Norwegian hip hop duo composed of Tshawe Baqwa (Kapricon) and Yosef Wolde-Mariam (Critical). Kapricon was born in Germany to South African parents but grew up in Tveita, near Oslo. Critical, on the other hand, is Norwegian by birth but of Ethiopian and Eritrean origin. The duo formed in 2000 and achieved international fame with the single "Beggin'", released in 2010, which topped European charts. Madcon is known for a sound that blends hip hop, R and B, and pop elements, characterized by catchy melodies and lyrics in English and Norwegian.
