I hope I died when I am old
I hope that you have fun
Ooh, I'm so sick of it here..
Death From Above 1979 is a Canadian electronic rock duo formed in Toronto in 2001. Composed of Jesse Keeler (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Sebastien Grainger (drums, vocals), the group is known for its powerful and minimalist sound, characterized by pounding bass riffs, frenetic drumming, and sharp lyrics. Their debut EP, *Death From Above*, was released in 2004, followed by the successful album *You're a Woman, I'm a Machine* (2004), which helped define the post-punk revival sound of the 2000s. After a hiatus in 2009, Death From Above 1979 returned with the album *The Physical World* (2014) and continues to be active in the contemporary music scene. Among the group's most representative songs are "Romance Song", "Black History Month" and "Trainwreck 1979".
