Dead Man Walking (DMW) is an Italian musical group formed in the summer of 2006 in Milan. The project, initially a female-fronted punk-rock band, features Francesca Clementi (guitar) and Silvia "Gus" Gussoni (vocals). Within a few months, Francesco "Kimi" Anzini (bass) and Lorenzo "Suppo" Rainoldi (drums) joined the group, with whom the DMW began performing live in spring 2007. In September 2007, Alice Zanzottera replaced Gus on vocals, marking the beginning of a musical journey that led the band to experiment with influences from various genres. In 2008 they recorded a demo of 3 tracks, which caught the attention of record producer Maurizio Parafioriti (Sony BMG). Between 2008 and 2010, they released two original songs produced by Parafioriti for SPHERIKA lab records on two compilations sold on iTunes and Amazon: "Musica kilometri zero" (2009) and "Music Factory rock contest" (2010). During this period, the DMW worked in studios between Milan and Pavia, composing original tracks characterized by rough and refined sounds, combined with introspective lyrics in Italian. In 2011, they began collaborating with Helmuth Walter Kesten Diaz, a promising guitarist from the province of Varese, who accompanied them both live and in the studio. In 2012, they released their debut album titled "Favole borderline", containing 10 original songs in Italian. The album is entirely self-produced both musically and graphically and recorded by Andrea Fantozzi. Currently, the DMW are actively promoting the album, performing in various venues in the provinces of Milan and Varese, and also offering an acoustic version of their repertoire for more intimate settings.
