Sergej Vjaceslavovic Lazarev (born December 1, 1983) is a Russian singer, songwriter and dancer of international fame. He began his artistic career at the age of seven, participating in theatrical performances and children's television programs. In 2000 he rose to prominence as a member of the pop group Smash!! with whom he achieved great success in Russia and the former Soviet Union. After the group disbanded in 2006, Lazarev embarked on a solo career, releasing pop albums that topped the Russian charts. He represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with the song «You Are the Only One», achieving an excellent placement. Besides music, Lazarev has acted in Russian films and television series, demonstrating artistic versatility that makes him one of the most popular figures on the contemporary Russian music scene.
