Neal Morse is an American musician of international fame, known primarily for his work in progressive rock. Born in 1964, he began his musical career in the 1980s with the band Spock's Beard, founded together with guitarist Dave Meros. With Spock's Beard, Morse helped define a new progressive sound, characterized by intricate melodies, poetic lyrics and a strong jazz influence. In addition to his work with Spock's Beard, Morse is also a member of the supergroups Transatlantic and Flying Colors, collaborating with some of the biggest names in progressive rock worldwide such as Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt and Steve Hackett.
