Taken was an American melodic hardcore/metalcore band from California. Their musical style, similar to bands like This Day Forward and Thrice, was characterized by a technical approach that placed them closer to melodic metalcore than pure hardcore. Although often classified as melodic hardcore, Taken's musical complexity transcended genre boundaries. The band disbanded in 2004. Members went on to form the bands Mikoto and Circa Survive.
