Stream of Passion is a progressive metal band with symphonic and gothic metal influences, founded by Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Marcela Bovio. Due to the geographical distance between the band members, Lucassen composed their debut album, *Embrace the Storm*, over the internet. It was released on October 24, 2005 through InsideOut Music. The sound of Stream of Passion is characterized by Bovio's powerful vocals, symphonic melodies and complex arrangements reminiscent of bands like Nightwish and Epica. Throughout their career, they have released other successful albums such as *The Flame Within* (2009) and *Darker Days* (2013).
