La Roux is a British musical duo formed in London in 2008 by Elly Jackson (vocals) and Ben Langmaid (production, keyboards). Their sound draws inspiration from the synthpop of the 1980s, with influences from artists such as Yazoo, The Human League, Heaven 17, and Blancmange. The name of the group derives from Elly Jackson's red hair. La Roux achieved international success in 2009 with the single "In for the Kill", which topped the British and European charts.
