When you've tried most everything and nothing's taking you higher
When you've come to realise, you've been playing with fire
Hear me when I say to you, it's really down to your heart
It's the beginning of a new love in sight
You've got the way to make it all happen
Set it spinning turning roundabout
Create a new dimension
When we are winning we can stop and shout
Making love towards perfection
I've been all around the world and seen so many faces
Young and old a story told, filling in my spaces
Now without a trace of doubt, I feel it every hour
It's the beginning of a new love inside
Could be an ever opening flower
No hesitation when we're all about
To build a shining tower
No explanations, need to work it out
You know we've got the power
Parallel our sights
And we will find, that we, we need, to be, where we, belong
Parallel our heights
Display our rights and wrongs, and always, keep it STRONG
It's the beginning of a new love in sight
Could be an ever opening flower
No explanations, need to work it out
You know we've got the power
It's the beginning of a new love inside
You've got the way to make it all happen
Set it spinning turning roundabout
Create a new dimension
When we are winning we can stop and shout
Making love towards perfection
The Eels are an alternative rock band formed in 1995 by musician and singer-songwriter Mark Oliver Everett (also known as Man Called E, Mr. E, or simply E; son of famed physicist Hugh Everett III). Everett formed the Eels with drummer Butch Norton and bassist Tommy Walter (known also by the stage name Abandoned Pools) when his solo career stalled. The band quickly gained fame with the release of their debut album *Beautiful Freak* in 1996, when a track from the album, "Beloved Monster", was used in the film *Shrek*. However, their second album, *Electro-Shock Blues*, is considered the Eels' magnum opus. Written during a time of great personal tragedy for Everett (his sister committed suicide and his mother had terminal lung cancer), the album explores themes of grief, loss, and hope with a rare emotional depth. The Eels have released six studio albums, the most recent being *Blinking Lights and Other Revelations* in 2005. This album is a personal journey into Everett's spirituality and sanity, and it was critically acclaimed but not commercially successful. Some of the Eels' most representative songs include "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues", "Novocaine for the Soul", "Souljacker Part II", and "Climbing to the Moon".
