Silverchair was an Australian alternative rock band formed in Newcastle in 1992. Comprised of Daniel Johns (vocals, guitar), Chris Joannou (bass) and Ben Gillies (drums), the group achieved international fame with their debut album *Frogstomp* (1995), which sold over 3 million copies in Australia. Silverchair was one of the most influential rock bands in Australia, known for its catchy melodies and introspective lyrics. Among their most famous songs are "Tomorrow", "Freak", "Anthem" and "The Greatest View". After a long career marked by commercial success and critical acclaim, the band disbanded in 2011. Daniel Johns has continued to work as a solo musician.
