Avail is a punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Originally formed in Northern Virginia in 1987, the initial lineup included Joe Banks, Doug Crosby, Brian Stewart and Mikey Warstler. The only original member still present is guitarist Joe Banks, who collaborated with Tim Barry of LDK (Learning Disabled Kids). In 1990 they moved to Richmond and, after several lineup changes, released their first album in 1992. Avail plays melodic punk rock with heartfelt lyrics and emotional breakdowns. Many of their songs deal with themes related to Richmond.
