Axel Fernando Costa (born Rafael Calzada, Buenos Aires, 1977) is an Argentine singer and pianist of Latin pop music. He began studying piano at the age of eight at the Julián Aguirre Conservatory in Buenos Aires. After interrupting his musical studies to focus on school, he resumed his musical path at seventeen. His debut in the entertainment world took place in a television telenovela where he played a waiter and pianist in a bar. Subsequently, he performed in tourist resorts during the Argentine summer. In 1998, he began working as a music journalist for a television program, interviewing artists like Julio Iglesias. His passion for music led him to sign with Sony Music Argentina in 1999, releasing his first album titled “La clave para conquistarte”. Throughout his career, he has released other successful albums such as “Mi forma de amar” (2001), “Amo” (2003) and “Hoy” (2005). The latter album, with themes related to love and heartbreak, exceeded platinum sales in Argentina. In 2007, he was a member of the international jury at the Festival de Viña del Mar. In 2008, he released the album “Universo”, which included the single “Verte Reir” that reached number one on Argentine charts. Axel Fernando is known for his ability to express emotions through music, drawing inspiration from his personal experiences.
