Trivium is an American metalcore band formed in Orlando, Florida in 2000. Their debut album, *Ember to Inferno*, was released in 2003 and marked the beginning of their rise to prominence. Success came with their second album, *Ascendancy* (2005), whose track "Washing Away Me in the Tides" was included in the soundtrack of the film *Underworld: Evolution* in 2006.
