Marcy Playground is an American alternative rock band formed in New York City in 1993. The group consists of John Wozniak (vocals, guitar), Dylan Keefe (bass) and Shlomi Lavie (drums). Their international breakthrough came in 1997 with the single "Sex and Candy", taken from their self-titled album which reached number 5 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album, produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), was certified double platinum in the United States. After a period of hiatus, Marcy Playground returned with new albums and tours, maintaining a loyal fan base thanks to their sound characterized by catchy melodies and introspective lyrics.
