Buju Banton, real name Mark Anthony Myrie, is a Jamaican singer born in Kingston in 1973. Considered one of the most important dancehall artists, Banton gained international fame in the 1990s with his powerful vocals and incisive rhymes. Politically influenced by Marcus Garvey and a member of the Rastafarian movement, his songs often address social and political issues, promoting awareness and unity among people. Among his most representative tracks are "Murder She Wrote", "Untold Stories" and "Destiny".
