Ivano Fossati (Genova, May 27, 1951) is an Italian singer-songwriter, musician and composer. Considered one of the most important singer-songwriters in Italian music of the 1980s and 1990s, Fossati stands out for his introspective poetry, catchy melodies and the use of original arrangements that blend folk, rock and jazz elements. He began his career in the 1970s with the group Delirium, but achieved success as a solo artist starting in 1982 with the album "Mio Fratello Che Guardi il Mondo". Among his most important albums are "Musica Moderna" (1984), "La Pianta del Te" (1987) and "Buontempo - Concerto Vol. 1" (1990). Fossati has collaborated with numerous artists, including Lucio Dalla, Francesco De Gregori and Roberto Vecchioni.
