The Misfits are an American hardcore punk band formed in Lodi, New Jersey in 1977 by Glenn Danzig. Known for their use of horror themes and a dark gothic look, they helped create the horror-punk subgenre. After several lineup changes and stylistic experiments, they released their debut album *Walk Among Us* in 1982. The album, although not commercially successful, became an underground punk classic and a landmark for alternative music. The Misfits are also known for their chaotic and exciting live shows.
