Bandazz è un progetto musicale nato dall'iniziativa del cantante e autore Max Lantieri, che si definisce «musicante clandestino». Il suo esordio avviene con un album dedicato al Brasile e alla Bossa Nova. Collaborando con il chitarrista Theo Salvitti, riunisce un gruppo di musicisti jazz romani per registrare live in studio l'album «Bossa in a jazzy dress», pubblicato il 26 giugno 2018 dall'etichetta brasiliana Savalla Records (finalista del Prêmio Profissionais da Música 2019). Da questa esperienza e dalla collaborazione con il produttore Carlos Savalla nasce «Encantadoramente», registrato acusticamente a San Paolo per il progetto Registros della Savalla Records. L'idea è quella di rendere omaggio alla grande musica italiana, nello stile di BandazZ. Al duo Lantieri-Salvitti si aggiunge la cantante Beatrice De Dominicis, già nota per le sue partecipazioni a programmi televisivi come Edicola Fiore e Domenica in. L'8 marzo 2019 la band presenta «Legata a un granello di sabbia», una versione Bossa Nova del brano di Nico Fidenco e Gianni Marchetti. A giugno esce il singolo «Sambaravá» con la B-side «Tu sei così», omaggio a Fred Bongusto, seguito da «Beijinhos à beira-mar» in collaborazione con la compositrice brasiliana Raquel Durães a settembre. A novembre 2019 esce l'album «Incantevolmente». Bandazz si posiziona tra due mari, due lingue e due culture musicali che si incontrano e contaminano. Il progetto autoriale «Sonhos: il viaggio, il sogno e la poesia» esce il 20 gennaio 2021, anticipato dal singolo «Fellini» (gennaio 2020), un omaggio al Maestro, e da «Acalanto e Cafunè», dedicato a Jorge Amado, a settembre.
