Strand of Oaks is the musical project of Timothy Showalter, an American singer-songwriter and musician born in 1980. Active since 2006, Showalter has released a series of albums exploring themes of loneliness, loss, and identity search through an indie rock sound characterized by catchy melodies and introspective lyrics. Among his most notable works are "Leave Ruin" (2014) and "Hard Love" (2017), the latter acclaimed for its artistic maturity and emotional power. Showalter is also known for his collaborations with other indie artists, such as The War on Drugs and Kurt Vile. Some of Strand of Oaks' most representative tracks include "Shut In", "Goshen", and "The Last Night".
