Il The Alan Parsons Project è un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi a Londra nel 1974 da Alan Parsons, ingegnere del suono di fama internazionale, e Eric Woolfson, compositore e manager. L'idea era quella di creare un progetto musicale innovativo che combinasse elementi progressivi, rock e musica classica, con l'orchestra come elemento centrale. La formazione vedeva la partecipazione di musicisti di sessione e cantanti ospiti, tra cui Lenny Zakatek, David Paton, Chris Rainbow e Colin Blunstone. Woolfson si occupava principalmente della composizione dei brani vocali, mentre Parsons si dedicava alla produzione e a composizioni strumentali. Tra i loro album più noti figurano *Tales of Mystery and Imagination* (1976), ispirato alle opere di Edgar Allan Poe, *Pyramid* (1975) e *Eye in the Sky* (1977).
