Marty Friedman (born Martin Adam Friedman) is an internationally renowned American guitarist and composer. Born in New York in 1962, he began playing guitar at the age of seven. His musical career has spanned various genres, from heavy metal to jazz fusion and progressive rock. After playing with several local bands, Friedman gained international recognition as the lead guitarist for Megadeth from 1990 to 2000. During this period, he contributed to recording some of the band's most important albums, including "Rust in Peace" (1990) and "Countdown to Extinction" (1992).
