Liberal Man meets Conservative Man
Conservative Man wears his myth on his skin
Liberal Man has to explain his and keeps his shirt all buttoned up
Conservative Man greets Liberal Man with a well-rehearsed cold stare
Liberal Man replies by issuing forth horseshit
Conservative Man retaliates by taking the concrete reality of the
situation and lodging it,like a wedge, right between both sides of
Liberal Man's brain
Liberal Man is caught off gaurd by this apparent non-abstraction
There is one full minute of confusion
Liberal Man becomes Conservative Man
Conservative Man becomes Liberal Man
War is declared
Liberal Man cheats by calling in reinforcements
Conservative Man is set upon by a mob and murdered
Said mob then turns on Liberal Man and he dies a broken man
The Minutemen were an American punk band formed in San Pedro, California, in early 1980. Considered extremely important and influential in the formation of American alternative and indie rock, they redefined the genre by ignoring pre-existing stylistic conventions about what punk was. Despite never achieving mainstream success, their third album, *Double Nickels on the Dime*, is considered one of the greatest of all time and was instrumental in the decline of hardcore punk. The Minutemen have been cited as a major influence by alt rock greats such as Henry Rollins and Red Hot Chili Peppers, who dedicated their seminal album *Blood Sugar Sex Magik* to bassist Mike Watt. The band played together until the death of frontman D. Boon in December 1985. Some of their most representative songs include: *The Politics of Time*, *Corona*, *This Ain't No Picnic*.
