Jimmy Cliff, stage name of James Chambers (1948), is a legendary Jamaican singer and musician considered one of the pioneers of international reggae. Born in Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica, Cliff began his musical career in the 1960s with the group The Wailing Wailers, collaborating with Bob Marley before his solo success. His musical style is characterized by a mix of reggae, ska and rocksteady, often accompanied by lyrics that address social and political themes.
