I've centered my whole life around your every need
And I got the groceries and I kept the house real clean
And I never once complained
'Cause I love you
And I waited here at home while you went out with all your friends
Yeah, I got into your groove, Babe, although I never quite fit in
I was a little offbeat
And not on cue
Do you even see me standing here before you?
Do you even hear me or do I bore you?
Hey, I really feel kind of stupid just trying to be everything to you
But it does no good, I could never be that cool, yeah
Have I ever told you how I paint you in my mind?
But when I put the brush to canvas I find you hard to recognize
'Cause you're looking straight at me,
Right in my eyes
And suddenly I feel me reaching trying to find the real you
And you smile and pacify me and happily I play the fool
Is there something I can get you?
It's what I do
Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? Are you empty?
Is it getting cold in here or is it just me?
Hey, I really feel kind of stupid just trying to be everything to you
But it does no good, I could never be that cool, yeah
And I am only now accepting I am human, I cannot be Superwoman
Oh, it's so easy to love you, but it's hard to be that cool, yeah?
I'm not Superwoman - don't know how to fly
I'm not Superwoman - I gave it my best try
I'm not Superwoman - someday I'm gonna die
What a life?
Hey, I really feel kind of stupid just trying to be everything to you
But it does no good, I could never be that cool, yeah
And I am only now accepting I am human, I cannot be Superwoman
Oh, it's so easy to love you, but it's hard to be that cool, yeah?
Jen Foster is an award-winning singer/songwriter who runs her independent record label, Fosterchild Records, in Nashville, TN. Influenced heavily by classic artists such as the Rolling Stones, U2, and Bob Dylan, Jen has spent a large part of the last 2 years in a Nashville recording studio working on her upcoming third album, "Thirty-Nine". Along with her producer, Greg Droman, Jen put together an all-star group of musicians to perform on the tracks, including Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers), Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Vertical Horizon) and Fred Eltringham (The Wallflowers, Dixie Chicks, The Wreckers). The project embodies a blend of sounds which range from soft, lazy-day melodies to more raucous guitar-driven tracks. Some of these new songs have already garnered Jen national attention: the single "Closer to Nowhere" recently won first place in the International Songwriting Competition (Triple A category) and the accompanying music video for the song hit 1 for several weeks on the LOGO network. In addition, Jen's original song, "Venice Beach", was recently a finalist in the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as in the New York Songwriter's Circle. Previously, Jen has also secured some impressive Film/TV placements, with songs placed in the popular television soap opera "All My Children" as well as a recent placement in an "American Pie" movie sequel.

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
