Tell Me Something Good
Chaka Khan
Written by Stevie Wonder
You ain't got no kind of feeling inside
I got something that will sure 'nuff set your stuff on fire
You refuse to put anything before your pride
I got something that will knock all your pride aside
CHORUS:
Tell me something good (tell me, tell me, tell me)
Tell me that you love me
Tell me something good (tell me, tell me, tell me)
Tell me that you like it, yeah
Got no time is what you're known to say
I'll make you wish there were 48 hours to each day
Problem is you ain't been loved like you should
What I got to give will sure 'nuff do you good
Rufus was an American funk band from Chicago, Illinois, known for launching the career of their lead singer Chaka Khan. They had several hits throughout their career, including "Tell Me Something Good", "Sweet Thing", and "Ain't Nobody". The band formed in 1972 thanks to the meeting between musician and producer Steve Arrington and vocalist Chaka Khan. Rufus quickly gained recognition in the 1970s with a powerful funk sound influenced by soul, characterized by complex arrangements and Khan's powerful vocals. Among their most important albums are "Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan" (1974) and "Masterjam" (1976). After their initial success, the band went through a period of changes with the departure of some members, but they continued to record music until the 1980s.
