The hell that raised us

Yeah, we wasn't hungry
But we never saw no silver spoon
We didn't have money
Didn't have no problem breaking rules
At home, it was my way or the highway
So we set out on the loose
Yeah, we did it our way, the hard way
They don't teach that shit in school

We shot out lights and stop signs
Burning diesel and bald tires
Something-teen, fake IDs
Cold beer and Marlboro lighters
Sneaking out all-nighters, parking lot fires
It's just how we came up
Products of the hell we raised
And the hell that raised us

We made the paper, the prayer list
They knew our names at the county jail
Daddy said to leave us, haha
Our momma's cried and paid our bails
Said, "Y'all need Jesus
Hell, 'cause y'all can't save y'all self"

We shot out lights and stop signs
Burning diesel and bald tires
Something-teen, fake IDs
Cold beer and Marlboro lighters
Sneaking out all-nighters, parking lot fires
It's just how we came up
Products of the hell we raised
And the hell that raised us
Yeah, the hell that raised us

We danced with the Devil
We played with fire and we got burned
Yeah, we did it our way, the hard way
That's the only way we learned

We shot out lights and stop signs
Burning diesel and bald tires
Something-teen, fake IDs
Cold beer and Marlboro lighters
Sneaking out all-nighters, parking lot fires
It's just how we came up
Products of the hell we raised
And the hell that raised us

Aw, the hell that raised us
The hell that raised us
