Xiu Xiu is an American experimental rock duo formed in San Jose, California, in 2002. The musical project features Jamie Stewart (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Angela Seo (violin, cello, vocals). The band's name derives from the 1998 Chinese film *Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl*, directed by Joan Chen.
