We sail along the shore
We're tethered from the sand
We sail away
We sail along the shore
Head-up to the east
And sail away
We sail along the shore
Get up from our hands
Crossings of my heart
Wait list to the government
Slow, you see
It's been known to me, my dear
And I don't know how to speak
Silence in the rain
Just surrounding me
You were there
Since you know me
Every now and then, I slip away
Ey, what do you know her
Not a god-damn thing
What have you got planned
Not a god-damn thing
When will you go hard
When the wall collapses
And the fire burns
And the world unravels, whoo
They gave you idols love
They gave you idols
And told you to close your eyes, ugh
They gave you riffles, son
They gave you riffles and told you to close your eyes, whoo
And now you parachute
With your books in your arms and your paratroops
And the lies that they tell that they pause the truth
And you buy us truth to the lies you whoa
But they just want love, ahh, they just want love
They put a couple of arms
Right under your arms, tell you 'secret is ours'
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
And I don't know how to speak
Silence in the rain
Just surrounding me
You were there
Since you know me
Every now and then, I slip away
And I don't know how to speak
Silence in the rain
Just surrounding me
You were there
Since you know me
Every now and then, I slip away
Why must it be so simple?
I wish I'd be so sure
And not unsettled, in so many ways
And you lie to us, you, you, you
Never fight for us, you, you, you
Shine a light on it, you, you, you
And some day, we'll fall back to the place
Where don't know how to speak
Silence in the rain
Just surrounding me
You were there
Since you know me
Every now and then, I slip away
And I don't know how to speak
Silence in the rain
Just surrounding me
You were there
Since you know me
Every now and then, I slip away
