Elisa Toffoli, known simply as Elisa (Trieste, December 19, 1977), is an Italian singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Her career, which began in the 1990s, spans over two decades during which she has released ten studio albums, six compilations, two live albums, four video albums, seventy-seven singles, and as many music videos. With over 5.5 million certified records by M and D and FIMI, Elisa has conquered Italian and European audiences with a sound that ranges from pop to rock and songwriting. Among her most representative songs are "Luce (tramonti a nord est)", winner of the Sanremo Music Festival in 2001, "A te", "Stay", "Ancora qui" (soundtrack for the film Django Unchained). Throughout her career, she has won numerous awards and accolades, including the Nastro d'argento, the Premio Regia Televisiva, and an MTV Europe Music Award. Elisa has also ventured into other artistic fields such as directing music videos, acting in theater, photography, voice-over work, and writing.
