Time has told me
You're a rare rare find
A troubled cure
For a troubled mind.
And time has told me
Not to ask for more
Someday our ocean
Will find it's shore.
So i`ll leave the ways that are making me be
What I really don't want to be
Leave the ways that are making me love
What I really don't want to love.
Time has told me
You came with the dawn
A soul with no footprint
A rose with no thorn.
Your tears they tell me
There's really no way
Of ending your troubles
With things you can say.
And time will tell you
To stay by my side
To keep on trying
'til there's no more to hide.
So leave the ways that are making you be
What you really don't want to be
Leave the ways that are making you love
What you really don't want to love.
Time has told me
You're a rare rare find
A troubled cure
For a troubled mind.
And time has told me
Not to ask for more
For some day our ocean
Will find it's shore.
Nicholas Rodney Drake, known as Nick Drake, was an English singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1948. His music, characterized by melancholic melodies and introspective lyrics, primarily falls into the folk-rock genre. Drake released three studio albums during his short career: *Five Leaves Left* (1969), *Bryter Layter* (1970) and *Pink Moon* (1972). Despite an initial lack of commercial success, his work was rediscovered in the 1980s, becoming a cult object among fans of indie and folk music. Drake is remembered for his poetic sensibility, refined guitar technique, and the introverted atmosphere that permeates his songs. Some of his most representative tracks are *Pink Moon*, *Northern Sky* and *Cello Song*. His life was marked by deep melancholy and a sense of alienation, which is reflected in his music. Drake died in 1974 at the age of 26 from an accidental overdose of barbiturates.
