She currently lives and works in the same Californian city, releasing her albums through the Canadian label Zedtone of Toronto. Mandell is known for her introspective folk-rock style and catchy melodies. She is also a member of the folk supergroup The Living Sisters, formed with Inara George and Becky Stark.
